'Every now and again, an artist comes along that endeavors to push their creative horizons further in order to create music that transcends the usual genre staples, presents listeners with a meaningful and compelling sense of musicality, and is wholly unique and brimming with originality, Dana Karic is one of those very artists. "My One and Only" is a brilliantly eclectic mix of jazz, pop, and progressive music styles that is bursting with captivating performances and the utmost melodic sophistication.

There is a fantastic blend of styles on display here, hints of jazz, pop, and prog-rock are expertly weaved together, creating a fascinating soundscape that is both multi-layered and filled with an abundance of intricate detail. Opening with a beautiful descending piano melody, new instruments are delicately added, helping to subtly thicken out the texture whilst also expanding on the melodic themes that have already been established. The piano melody is strengthened by the guitar which doubles up with a slightly altered variation of the same melody, all the while the bass provides a combination of pedal tones and interesting scalic lines to further add interesting rhythmic and melodic embellishments that provide a nice counterpoint to the main piano theme. This beautifully constructed intro perfectly sets up the general flavor of the rest of the track and what ensues is nothing short of breathtaking. All this is performed with both great musical poise and fantastic character, these are clearly musicians at the top of their game. Dana Karic's vocals wonderfully glide over the rich harmonic progressions that lay underneath and not only does she display brilliant tonal and dynamic control, but also a great deal of musical awareness, knowing exactly how to interact with the music that accompanies her.'
